Stress Less

Stress is a major contributor to acne all over your body, not just on your face. You should understand that, when you become stressed, your body releases hormones that are meant to help you cope with the stress and decide whether you will fight or take flight. It is a normal evolutionary process that our bodies have developed over time. However, these stress hormones can really take their toll on our modern bodies because they can lead to weight gain and excess oil production on the skin. When excess oil is produced, you have a shiny complexion that makes it much more likely you will end up with clogged pores that cause acne to form.

Therefore, stress less. Meditate every day, practice yoga, exercise several times a week, and just try your best to take things in stride. Hang out with people who make you happy and avoid people who stress you out. Find an activity that you love that allows you to unwind, whether it is reading a book at home or going for a hike on a mountain.

And when breakouts do occur, try not to stress out about them. Use proven acne spot treatments that will heal your trouble spots quickly throughout the day and/or at night. Make sure to cleanse your face gently, moisturize if necessary, and treat your skin in a gentle manner at all times to avoid further irritating the breakouts. And never pop your pimples because you risk spreading the infection and causing scarring.
